Blow it to bits (On va tout péter) by Lech Kowalski – Quinzaine des Réalisateurs

Blow it to bits (On va tout péter) by Lech Kowalski received the 1st prize of the 2019 Director’s Fortnight (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs): the Metallurgy Palme d’Or for his documentary on the fight to keep her jobs if the French GS&M factory. All the actors, on the screen as in real life, were on stage, for a very emotional moment.A minute of silence was observed for two of them who died during the fight. They presented a law proposal “to avoid other workers to go through what we have been”.Kowalski movie goes far beyond the documentary level on this story that very present in the French press. It depicts the worthless efforts of French automotive workers in their fight to keep their jobs while their company is scaled down, leaving 170 families without resources. The movie shows the fight from the inside, starting with camaraderie and mutual support between the workers and ending in fights when the list of people laid off is revealed. A voice-over asks powerful questions: in a world where citizens became consumers is there still a place for a revolution? And what will happen when goods will eventually go unsold because work has been outsourced to low labiur cost countries and laid off workers won’t have enough money to fulfil their consumer role anymore?https://t.co/l9IPojeSpe
